The role of Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General is an essential position that blends customer service excellence with operational leadership. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six months of supervisory experience or related experience or training preferred
- frequent walking and standing
- frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station and stock merchandise
- ability to push and/or pull rolltainers
- frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers
- frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds
- occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds
- occasional climbing using step ladder up to six feet
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise
- occasional exposure to outside weather
- occasional or regular driving providing own transportation for bank deposits, meetings, and travel to other stores
Job Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides
- ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to perform cash register functions
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service leadership

- operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases
- collect payment and make change
- bag merchandise
- assist customers with merchandise
- follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack merchandise
- stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves
- build merchandise displays
- clean the store including taking out trash, dusting, mopping, cleaning restroom and stockroom
- help set up sidewalk displays
- assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms
- open and close the store under direction of Store Manager
- perform additional duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence
