Job Description

Dollar General Corporation is a leading American variety store chain that has been serving communities for over 80 years. With a strong commitment to delivering value to shoppers, Dollar General offers everyday low prices on frequently used and replenished products such as food, snacks, health and beauty aids, cleaning supplies, basic apparel, housewares, and seasonal items. The company operates a network of convenient neighborhood locations designed to save customers both time and money, making shopping accessible and affordable for millions of Americans. Dollar General is not just a retail company; it emphasizes a people-centered culture that values the unique strengths and perspectives of every employee. Their mission, "Serving Others," reflects how deeply they value customer service excellence and team member contributions in every corner of their business—from stores to distribution centers, support centers, and private fleet teams. Employment opportunities extend across various roles with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

The role of Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General is a critical leadership position focused on helping maintain a clean, well-organized retail environment that centers around providing outstanding customer service. This position involves assisting customers in finding and purchasing merchandise efficiently, operating cash registers, stocking and recovering merchandise, and cleaning the store. The Lead Sales Associate also has a leadership role, acting as a shift lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, ensuring store operations run smoothly and store profitability and customer satisfaction goals are met. This role requires a dedicated team player capable of multitasking in a fast-paced retail environment, with responsibilities that span customer assistance, operational support, inventory management, and team leadership. The position demands an individual who embraces the mission of Serving Others by fostering a welcoming and helpful atmosphere for shoppers and guiding store processes to uphold company standards. Dollar General provides a dynamic work environment that encourages growth and values the impact every employee makes in their community-focused stores.
