The Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer position is a pivotal role within the Cast Tools & US Parks TechOps organization, part of the US Parks & Resorts sector under Disney Experiences Technology. This role reports to the Quality Engineering Manager and embodies a leadership position tasked with maintaining Disney’s signature standards of quality in all products. The ideal candidate is a visionary and detail-oriented technologist who thrives in collaborative agile environments and possesses a strong desire to push the boundaries of quality assurance innovation.

As the Lead QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a comprehensive test strategy for various digital products and technologies that relate to Disney’s guest experiences. You will analyze user stories and requirements to design and execute thorough testing plans that cover a diverse range of test types including service-oriented architecture (SOA), unit, integration, functional, regression, acceptance, system, load, performance, and smoke tests. This role requires you to lead test case creation, facilitate reviews and approvals of test automation, and promote continuous process improvements to reduce defects. Furthermore, you will document defects meticulously, help diagnose complex code issues, and influence the software development lifecycle by collaborating closely with Infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams.

Your responsibilities extend to monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the QA process at the leading edge of innovation. You will also champion standards, processes, and template optimization to enhance testing efficiency while ensuring uncompromising quality. This leadership position demands excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers and product owners, to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are testable and correctly validated before production deployments. Salary for this role ranges from $135,200 to $181,200 annually in Orlando, FL, and $141,900 to $190,300 annually in Glendale, CA, with the final offer influenced by location, skills, and experience.
