The Lead Production Cook position at Sodexo, located at Western Digital UPA in San Jose, offers a full-time opportunity with a competitive pay range of $25.00 to $27.00 per hour. This role is essential in the food preparation team, focused on preparing and presenting nutritious and delicious dishes across multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. The Lead Production Cook acts as both a skilled culinary practitioner and a team leader, supporting management by overseeing key daily functions and guiding other employees during business hours. A critical part of this role is a dedication to reducing food waste and delivering excellent customer service by creating food that is not only tasty but also presented attractively.

Working in varying shifts with preferred open availability, the Lead Production Cook plays a vital role in ensuring that food standards meet Sodexo’s high-quality service commitment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience preferred
  • ability to work varying shifts including days and hours with open availability preferred

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
  • Support management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
