Job Description

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee responsible for delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This esteemed organization is charged with presenting a Games experience that reflects the dynamic spirit and diversity of Los Angeles and the United States. The 2028 Games will mark the return of the Summer Olympic Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and showcase Los Angeles as a distinguished host city for the third time in history, as well as welcoming the Paralympic Games for the first time. The committee’s mission is to create an engaging and memorable celebration that offers an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners, and the broader community.

The LA28 Sport Presentation team plays a critical role in crafting an electrifying atmosphere across the many iconic venues that will host Olympic and Paralympic competitions. This team is responsible for sourcing and managing sport-specific professional announcers, scriptwriting, live commentary, and the complex integration of music, video, audio, lighting, victory ceremonies, and entertainment elements at each venue. The goal is to educate, engage, and entertain audiences while heightening the excitement and competition experience for athletes and fans alike.

The Lead Producer role within the LA28 Sport Presentation team offers an exceptional leadership opportunity. This position involves strategic and operational oversight of Sport Presentation efforts across multiple venues, coordinating a diverse, multidisciplinary workforce of paid staff, contractors, and volunteers. The Lead Producer ensures that all sport presentation components meet international standards and align with LA28’s vision and values, including optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation, and boldness.

Key responsibilities include developing requirements and specifications for Sport Presentation, leading event day execution, working in close collaboration with International Federations and other functional managers, and facilitating specialized training and workshops ahead of the Games. The Lead Producer must demonstrate comprehensive expertise across numerous domains, including broadcast operations, audio/lighting production, live entertainment, staging, communications, and special effects. This position demands a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment, equipped to manage complex logistics under tight timelines and high-pressure conditions.

The ideal candidate will bring significant international experience—over seven years—in Sport Presentation, live sporting events, or sports broadcasting, with prior Olympic, Paralympic, or major international multi-sport event experience preferred. A proven track record in “show calling” and venue production is essential, alongside strong team leading, communication skills, and established working relationships with key international sport bodies such as the International Federations, IPC, and IOC.

This position is based in Downtown Los Angeles and includes working in an open office setting with variable hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules. The role offers a competitive annual base salary ranging from $105,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. LA28 champions an inclusive, fair recruitment process and encourages applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. This role will evolve as the Games approach and may include operational responsibilities during the event itself, offering an extraordinary chance to contribute to one of the most significant global sporting moments in history.
