Job Description
The Bill Jacobs organization is a highly respected dealership group based in the Midwest, operating locations in Naperville and Hinsdale. Representing premium automotive brands such as BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Jaguar, and Land Rover, the group also includes a specialized all-electric dealership, Current Automotive, and the Ambassador Auto Reconditioning Center, which is dedicated to vehicle preparation and operational excellence. This established company prides itself on delivering superior customer experiences, underscored by their core values known as RISE: Respect, Integrity, Social Responsibility, and Excellence. At Bill Jacobs, the philosophy is that while the cars attract customers, it is the exceptional experience that keeps them returning.
Working at Bill Jacobs means joining a vibrant, customer-focused team that emphasizes career growth and internal development. They promote from within and offer various training opportunities to help team members build lasting careers, not just jobs. The company culture is supportive, fast-paced, and team-oriented, highlighting professional excellence and personal growth.
The Lead Porter role at Bill Jacobs is a key leadership position that orchestrates vehicle movement logistics throughout the dealership network. As an Ambassador Lead Porter, you will oversee the entire porter operation, ensuring that vehicles are efficiently and timely transferred among dealership locations while maintaining top-tier service standards both internally and for customers. This role uniquely blends leadership skills with logistics coordination and excellent service delivery.
You will serve as the central contact point for all porter-related activities, dispatching and directing porter teams to match daily business needs and priorities. Your responsibilities include managing vehicle transfers, monitoring porter productivity and attendance, coordinating shuttle services, and maintaining clean and organized dealership areas such as lots, service drives, and customer spaces. The role demands a proactive, team-first leadership approach where you lead by example by helping with vehicle movement and supporting your team's needs.
Bill Jacobs offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance with a BCBSIL PPO plan, pet insurance, 401(k) with company contributions, life insurance, paid time off, legal benefits, employee discounts on vehicles, parts, and services, identity protection benefits, paid holidays, leadership development programs, and access to onsite nutritionists and physician assistants. This total rewards package supports your well-being and professional development.
If you are an organized, communicative professional with at least 2 years in a leadership, coordination, or supervisory role, possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and enjoy managing logistics across multiple locations, this opportunity at Bill Jacobs could be an excellent fit. Automotive or dealership experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are a plus.
