Job Requirements

  • valid Food Handlers card
  • must be flexible with schedule and working hours
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • capacity to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • physical ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies
  • commitment to maintaining sanitary and safe work environment

Job Qualifications

  • 4-5 years' pastry or bakery experience in similar establishments such as hotels, resorts, casinos, or restaurants
  • knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • strong attention to detail and consistency in pastry production
  • teamwork and communication skills
  • familiarity with food safety regulations and standards
  • Pastry Chef or culinary school training is a plus

Job Duties

  • produce basic preparation-style pastry items for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner for residents and staff meals
  • follow directions from the Pastry Chef regarding specific duties and tasks
  • ensure all pastry items for meals or events are prepared on schedule
  • adhere to all established Dining Services policies and procedures
  • maintain high standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness
  • assist with inventory and ordering of pastry supplies as needed
  • contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment
