The Food & Beverage department at Boston Harbor Hotel plays a crucial role in embodying the hotel’s dedication to quality and service. It offers a variety of dining experiences from casual to fine dining, featuring expertly crafted menus and curated beverage selections. Within this dynamic environment, the hotel seeks a Lead Mixologist, a key leadership role designed to elevate the beverage service and overall guest experience. This position is full-time and non-exempt, requiring flexible availability that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The Lead Mixologist will be a vital member of the Food & Beverage team, reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager. This professional is responsible not only for craft cocktail preparation but also for overseeing the entire beverage program. This includes developing innovative and seasonally inspired cocktail menus that align with the hotel’s luxury brand identity. As a mentor, the Lead Mixologist will train and coach bartenders, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of service and product knowledge. Expertise in spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail techniques is essential, as is the ability to maintain consistency and excellence in all beverage presentations.

Job Requirements
- minimum of three years bartending experience
- TIPS certification preferred
- able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- must be able to lift 30 pounds regularly
- ability to maintain an organized and pristine work area
- knowledge of safe alcohol service standards and local regulations
- effective communication skills in English
Job Qualifications
- advanced knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, cocktail techniques, and beverage trends
- minimum of three years bartending experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
- TIPS certification preferred
- good verbal and written communication skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- basic computational ability
- able to speak, read, write, and understand English
- second language desirable
Job Duties
- assist with greeting guests and creating a positive first impression
- complete all opening and closing side work
- design and execute seasonal and specialty cocktail menus
- demonstrate full knowledge of all wines, liquors, and beers and make recommendations
- ensure cocktails are prepared consistently according to recipes and presentation standards
- train, mentor, and coach bartenders on recipes, techniques, and service standards
- ensure service of cocktails, wine, and champagne complies with safe alcohol service standards
