The hotel offers guests an exquisite experience in a beautiful waterfront setting, combining elegant accommodations with fine dining and superb event facilities. As part of the HHM Hotels group, Boston Harbor Hotel exemplifies a commitment to quality, inclusivity, and customer satisfaction, positioning itself as a premier destination for both leisure and business travelers seeking upscale amenities and personalized service.
The Lead Mixologist position at Boston Harbor Hotel is a vital role within the Food & Beverage department, reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager. This non-exempt, full-time position demands a dynamic, experienced, and passionate individual who is eager to elevate the guest beverage experience through creativity, expertise, and leadership. A key component of the role is to ensure that every guest interaction at the bar reflects the highest luxury service standards, emphasizing consistency, quality, and innovation in cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers.
The Lead Mixologist will be the catalyst for the bar team's success, serving not only as an expert bartender but also as a mentor and trainer. Responsibilities include assisting guests with warm greetings to create positive first impressions, overseeing all bar opening and closing procedures, and designing and executing seasonal and specialty cocktail menus aligned with the hotel's prestigious brand. This creativity in beverage program development is essential to keeping the offerings fresh, exciting, and reflective of current trends in the luxury hospitality market.
In addition to expert craftsmanship in cocktail creation, the Lead Mixologist will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all wines, liquors, and beers served, enabling insightful recommendations that enhance guests' dining and social experiences. Maintaining strict adherence to safe alcohol service standards and regulatory compliance is a cornerstone of this role, ensuring that all beverages are served responsibly.
The position requires a minimum of three years of bartending experience, preferably within luxury hotels or fine dining environments, enhancing the candidate's ability to perform under the high expectations of Boston Harbor Hotel patrons. TIPS certification is preferred, supporting the hotel's dedication to safety and best practices in responsible alcohol service.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is necessary to meet the operational demands of the hotel. The Lead Mixologist must possess strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in fast-paced settings, and basic computational abilities. Physical stamina is required to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and maintain an organized, pristine workspace throughout shifts.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals seeking to grow their careers in a luxury hotel environment that values excellence, innovation, and teamwork.
