Job Description

Conviva Senior Primary Care is part of Humana's innovative network providing specialized, value-based care to senior patients. Conviva focuses on proactive and preventive healthcare that goes beyond traditional treatment by addressing the physical, social, emotional, behavioral, and financial aspects impacting patient well-being. As a division of Humana, Inc., a leading healthcare services organization, Conviva continues Humana's mission to deliver high-quality, accessible, and personalized care to seniors. The organization emphasizes whole-person wellness through comprehensive primary care, chronic condition management, wellness visits, screenings, minor injury treatments, and more. Humana, through the CenterWell Senior Primary Care brand, stands as one of the largest providers of senior-focused primary care, home healthcare, and specialty services. Its integrated approach ensures patient needs are met comprehensively and efficiently, at the right time, and in the most cost-effective manner possible.

The Lead Medical Assistant role at Conviva Senior Primary Care is a dynamic and crucial position tasked with bridging clinical care and administrative operations within the outpatient setting. Reporting directly to the Center Administrator, this role requires experienced leadership and independent initiative to oversee advanced administrative, operational, and customer support functions. The Lead Medical Assistant serves as the key initial point of contact for patients, ensuring smooth clinical workflows while supporting physicians and nursing staff in delivering exemplary patient care. This position demands a high level of clinical skill, including taking vital signs, administering injections, drawing blood, specimen collection, and conducting diagnostic tests. Beyond clinical responsibilities, the Lead Medical Assistant coordinates staff activities, monitors workflows, and ensures operational goals and schedules are met.

Candidates must hold a current Medical Assistant certification from one of the recognized certifying organizations linked with Conviva/Humana, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Essential credentials also include demonstrated experience in phlebotomy, medication and vaccine administration, current CPR certification, and a minimum of three years of practical Medical Assistant experience, alongside at least two years in a supervisory capacity within clinical environments. The role involves patient-facing duties, including participation in Tuberculosis (TB) screening programs, reinforcing the importance of patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Preferred qualifications highlight experience in a Primary Care Organization (PCO) setting, value-based care knowledge with familiarity in HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience assessment tools like CAHPS/HOS. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous, subject to passing a proficiency examination for foreign language communications. The Lead Medical Assistant role is full-time (40 hours per week), working onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Port Orange, Florida.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $48,300 to $65,900 annually, commensurate with geographic location, education, skill level, and experience. Moreover, it includes eligibility for bonus incentive plans linked to individual and company performance. Humana emphasizes the importance of its employees' well-being, providing robust benefits encompassing medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings plans with 401(k), paid time off including holidays and parental leave, volunteer time off, and comprehensive disability and life insurance options. Humana is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion without discrimination on any protected basis, reflecting its core value of integrity and respect in the workplace.
