The Lead Material Handler position within the Loading Team at WP Beverages plays a pivotal role in the company’s warehouse operations. The primary responsibilities of this role involve the effective building, staging, and loading of products to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers. This leadership role takes on additional oversight of loading operations during the absence of the Loading Supervisor, making it essential for candidates to demonstrate strong organizational and leadership capabilities. The Lead Material Handler will manage the movement and rotation of products throughout various warehouse locations while maintaining cleanliness and organization standards essential to safe and efficient warehouse operation. This role requires the operation of powered industrial equipment, including fork-trucks, and the capability to move and back up tractor/trailer combinations of varying sizes. Physically demanding aspects include lifting heavy loads, prolonged periods of standing, bending, and the repetitive motion associated with material handling tasks.

Job Requirements
- High-school diploma required
- minimum one year of warehousing, distribution or merchandising experience
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- fork-truck certification and ability to operate powered industrial equipment safely
- ability to lift 60 pounds continually and occasionally lift 75 pounds
- capacity for prolonged sitting, standing, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
- strong leadership and coaching skills
- above average math and personal computing skills
- mechanical knowledge with ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions
- ability to move and back tractor/trailer combinations
- willingness to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as needed
Job Qualifications
- High-school diploma with post high-school education preferred but not required
- minimum one year of experience in warehousing, distribution, or merchandising within a high volume distribution environment
- excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language
- strong organizational, time management and decision making skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- ability to operate powered industrial equipment including a fork-truck in a safe manner and maintain annual fork-truck certification
- strong management, leadership, and coaching skills
- above average math and personal computing skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- basic mechanical/automotive knowledge with the ability to operate a manual/automatic transmission
- ability to move and back tractor/trailer combinations of varying sizes
Job Duties
- Building, staging, and loading products effectively and efficiently
- assuming all loading responsibilities in absence of the Loading Supervisor
- general housekeeping duties
- properly stocking and rotating product throughout several warehouse locations
- organization and staging of shells and pallets
- moving and backing tractor/trailer combinations
- assisting other duties as assigned by the Loading Supervisor and/or Operations Manager
