The Lead Maintenance Technician role at Nestle Health Science is a critical position responsible for overseeing maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. This role is pivotal in supporting the manufacturing processes of the company’s extensive product range, guaranteeing continuity and quality. Working on a challenging third shift with a 2-week rotating 12-hour schedule, the technician leads a skilled maintenance team by scheduling, mentoring, and maintaining quality standards. The position involves advanced repairs across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic utilities, and ensuring the optimal operation of plant systems including boilers, compressors, and HVAC equipment. In addition to hands-on technical expertise, the Lead Maintenance Technician directs root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects while providing training in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems to team members.

This role also demands a strong commitment to workplace safety, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies. New hires undergo a thorough 4-5 day onboarding program to support seamless integration into the team. Candidates typically possess over eight years of maintenance experience, including a minimum of five years in a manufacturing environment, complemented by leadership skills and a technical background in mechanical, electrical, or electronic trades. Familiarity with PLC programming and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) like SAP or Oracle is preferred. The position also requires physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in environments involving powders, chemicals, and food allergens.
