The Maintenance Person at Hyatt Place plays a crucial role in supporting the hotel’s commitment to superior guest service and operational excellence. This role requires a dedicated individual who values high standards and teamwork. The position involves maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere across the hotel’s guest suites, meeting spaces, and public areas. Primarily, the Maintenance Person is responsible for general maintenance and routine preventative repairs, which include mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment. This necessitates some technical knowledge and hands-on experience in these areas. Additionally, the role demands strong communication skills to coordinate tasks efficiently and interact effectively with guests and other team members.

This position is particularly significant as the Maintenance Person contributes directly to the guests’ overall experience by ensuring the hotel's facilities function seamlessly, thereby enhancing the comfort and satisfaction of visitors. A minimum of one year of building maintenance experience is required, with preference given to those who have prior hotel industry experience. The ideal candidate will possess a positive customer service attitude, flexibility in scheduling including availability for AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays, and a solid command of the English language for clear communication. Furthermore, they must demonstrate the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and possess the physical capability to handle moderate to heavy lifting tasks.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of one year building maintenance experience
  • good customer service skills
  • schedule flexibility for AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • strong command of the English language
  • ability to learn quickly
  • ability to multi-task
  • must be 18 years or older
  • ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy weight (minimum 20 lbs)
  • basic computer skills

Job Qualifications

  • experience performing repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment
  • customer service experience preferred, preferably in a hotel or related field
  • strong command of the English language including speaking, reading, and writing
  • ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced position with guest interaction
  • ability to multi-task
  • must be 18 years or older

  • basic computer skills such as Word and Excel

Job Duties
