Layers is an independently owned, ingredient-driven sandwich shop located in the vibrant Green Lake neighborhood. We are currently seeking a full-time bilingual Line Cook and Kitchen Team Member to become an integral part of our kitchen staff. This role operates from Friday through Tuesday, between 9am and 4pm, and works closely with the Chef and Sous Chef. The ideal candidate for this position will embrace a fast-paced kitchen setting, demonstrate reliability, and possess a keen attention to detail. This role is unique in that it requires bilingual skills, enabling effective communication within our diverse team and with our guests. The position is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on involvement in various aspects of the kitchen, from daily prep work to active line service, and who thrives on maintaining a clean, organized workspace with an emphasis on quality and thoughtful food execution.
The Line Cook/Kitchen Team Member will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen’s daily operations, including working multiple kitchen stations, assisting with catering orders, and contributing to the training and development of fellow staff members. Given Layers' focus on strong kitchen culture, this role also offers significant opportunities for growth and leadership within the team. Compensation is competitive, starting at $23 per hour plus tips, with an average additional tip income of $7 to $13 per hour.
