Job Requirements

- Proven experience as a line cook or in a related culinary position
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

- Previous experience as a line cook or similar kitchen role
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Basic knife skills and culinary techniques
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools
Job Duties
- Promote work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the restaurant
- Show up to scheduled shifts on time and in proper uniform
- Inspect clean and maintain food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food handling
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
- Comply with standard portion sizes cooking methods and kitchen policies
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- Handle store and rotate all food products and supplies according to policies
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- Season and cook food according to recipes or experience
- Bake roast broil and steam meats fish vegetables and other foods
- Weigh measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Portion arrange and garnish food and serve to servers or guests
- Observe and test foods for sufficient cooking using temping smelling or piercing
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for dishes
- Wash peel cut and seed fruits and vegetables
- Carve and trim meats for hot or cold service or sandwiches
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
- Close the kitchen following the closing checklist
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests needs
- Fill in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service and operations
- Complete reasonable tasks assigned by supervisor or manager
- Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus considering costs and special needs
- Keep records and accounts
- Coordinate supervise work of kitchen staff
- Prepare relishes and hors d'oeuvres
- Estimate food consumption requisition or purchase supplies
- Butcher and dress animals fowl or shellfish or cut and bone meat prior to cooking
