The role of Cook at Boyd Gaming Corporation is pivotal in maintaining the company's high culinary standards. This position requires a professional who can efficiently manage food preparation according to memorized standard recipes. The Cook must monitor food production to ensure quality standards are consistently met, as well as maintain inventory management at their designated station. Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and food safety are essential components of this role. The successful candidate will also assist in training and coaching other line cooks, fostering teamwork and supporting operational efficiency in the kitchen. This role is critical to delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests and upholding Boyd Gaming's reputation for superior hospitality.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of cooking experience
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 pounds
  • Capability to perform physical tasks including reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and twisting at the waist
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a cook
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 pounds
  • Other physical requirements include reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and twisting at the waist
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications

Job Duties

  • Cook orders in a timely manner according to memorized standard recipes
  • Monitor food production to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain inventory of station and order stock
  • Receive and prepare and/or delegate food orders according to memorized standard recipes
  • Coordinate orders for pick-up
  • Maintain cleanliness of work station and storage areas at all times
  • Control waste by monitoring proper rotation, storage, and quantity control
  • Consistently apply established safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assist in the training and coaching of line cooks
