The role of Lead Housekeeper is central to maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the healthcare environment. This position involves key responsibilities such as providing dispatch services, managing communications and telephone inquiries, and acting as a liaison for cleaning personnel and office or storeroom interactions. The Lead Housekeeper ensures all activities comply with strict hygiene and procedural standards, supporting a sanitized and organized workspace crucial for patient safety and comfort.

Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Experience in administrative support and/or healthcare preferred
  • Ability to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to operate/use department equipment
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to speak and hear for discussions
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to respond to telephone calls
  • Physical ability to bend, lift (10-30 lbs), grasp, coordinate hand/eye movements, push and pull, and stand or sit for prolonged periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and communicate verbally and in writing
  • Experience in administrative support or healthcare preferred
  • Ability to operate department equipment proficiently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Basic mathematical ability for measurements and calculations

Job Duties

  • Provide dispatch services and answer telephone calls
  • Serve as the personal point of contact for dismissal cleaning personnel and others communicating with the office/storeroom area
  • Enforce employee check-in/out supply and equipment policies and procedures
  • Maintain an orderly and clean office/storeroom area
  • Act as the departmental secretary
  • Maintain professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards while interacting with patients, families, and coworkers
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors
