Job Requirements

  • Minimum five years experience in housekeeping or janitorial role
  • experience supervising staff
  • ability to operate power cleaning tools
  • knowledge of common cleaning products
  • physical ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear
  • occasional ability to sit
  • ability to frequently lift or move more than 50 pounds

  • experience supervising staff
  • multi-unit cleaning experience such as apartments, campus, hotels, or hospitals
  • ability to operate a variety of power cleaning tools using appropriate safety techniques
  • general knowledge of common cleaning products and their appropriate uses

Job Duties

  • Supervise and develop the housekeeping staff
  • purchase and maintain the inventory needed on-site to perform daily maintenance duties
  • maintain a monthly housekeeping budget
  • compile a variety of reports relating to the housekeeping operations of the property
  • respond to emergency housekeeping calls
  • supervise and coordinate work shifts for the housekeeping staff
  • evaluate the performance of the housekeeping staff
  • assist in the hiring and training of housekeeping personnel
  • clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and other work areas to meet health standards
  • clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers
  • empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas
  • sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors using appropriate tools
  • dust and polish furniture and equipment
  • keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
  • wash windows, walls, ceilings and woodwork including waxing and polishing
  • disinfect equipment and supplies using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers
  • perform general cleaning of units during turnover including appliances, bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, and cleaning countertops
  • walk multiple buildings daily
  • perform all other duties as assigned
