This role is integral to the food and beverage department, aimed at creating an energized, inviting atmosphere where personalized beverage service is delivered with professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to detail. As the Lead Bartender, you will not only mix drinks and engage with customers but will embody the McKibbon culture, ensuring that the bar area maintains pristine cleanliness and operates efficiently in alignment with the highest standards. This position requires a proactive, self-motivated individual capable of multitasking, effective communication, and operational oversight.A typical day in this role involves embracing and personifying the McKibbon culture through positive interactions with both guests and associates, helping to set a friendly, energetic tone at the bar. You will work closely with the Food and Beverage (F&B) Director and Bar Manager to manage administrative duties such as tracking expenses, maintaining profitability, processing invoices, and controlling food and beverage inventories. Your leadership will extend to monitoring food preparation and service quality, enforcing brand standards, and maintaining regulatory compliance, including alcohol service laws. The role demands flexibility with shift schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the hospitality industry's needs. Preferred candidates will bring at least two to three years of experience in beverage or food outlets, with additional leadership experience highly valued. Essential competencies include knowledge of drink preparation, guest payment processing skills, and the ability to lift moderate weights regularly. Demonstrating initiative and ownership, the Lead Bartender role is crucial to enhancing the guest experience and supporting the overall success of McKibbon Hospitality's food and beverage operations. Job Requirements
- Valid food handler's card or ability to obtain one
- Flexible work schedule including shift work, weekends, and holidays
- Effective communication skills
- Legal ability to serve alcohol in the respective state or province
- Knowledge of local and state alcohol service regulations
Job Qualifications
- Two to three years minimum experience in a beverage or food outlet
- Three years minimum experience as a bartender preferred
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and adapt quickly
- Knowledge of drink preparation
- Computational skills for guest payment processing
- Food safety certification or alcohol service training recommended
- Ability to lift trays weighing up to 30 lbs
Job Duties
- Supervise bartenders and ensure excellent beverage service
- Provide customized and friendly drink service to customers
- Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar and surrounding areas
- Work with F&B Director and Bar Manager on administrative tasks including expense tracking and invoicing
- Control inventory and manage food and beverage budgeting and ordering
- Monitor food preparation and serving to uphold quality and brand standards
- Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and safety regulations
