This position is for a Lead role at ABM, specifically focusing on facility operations and maintenance. The Lead acts as a key supervisory figure and ensures that all facility operations adhere strictly to established policies and procedures. This includes coordinating daily operational activities by effectively delegating job assignments to team members and providing clear guidance and support. The Lead serves as the primary supervisor at the assigned location during the absence of the Facility Manager, helping maintain standard operating procedures and ensuring that both workers and customers experience a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment at all times.
The role of the Shift Leader also involves hands-on responsibilities, including the operation of specialized equipment and the handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines. In addition to supporting general janitorial duties, the Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality and completion of cleaning tasks. They ensure compliance with route cards and schedules, report any barriers or challenges that may impede service delivery, and maintain open communication lines between field employees and management. Supervisory duties include training new hires as part of the onboarding process and confirming job completion with the Area Manager. The Lead also manages keys and access cards for the property, ensures that supplies, equipment, and chemicals are checked weekly, and addresses service requests efficiently.

Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to follow work schedules and route cards
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and management
- Ability to operate specialized equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Availability to work Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm
- Willingness to provide leadership and supervise shift operations
- Must comply with all company policies and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or college degree not required
- One year of similar work experience preferred
- One year of customer service experience preferred
- One year of lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to operate specialized cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling chemicals
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Duties
- Follow assigned work schedules and route cards as directed
- Provide leadership and direction to team members
- Maintain open communication between field employees and management, monitor and document client communications
- Assist with making daily and weekly work schedules
- Oversee and perform cleaning operations in assigned buildings
- Manage keys and access cards for the property
- Report damaged, broken, or non-working items
- Oversee and perform additional service requests in assigned buildings
- Confirm quality of jobs and completion with Area Manager
- Provide training for all new hires according to onboarding procedures
- Complete and validate time records for regular or subcontractor employees
- Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
