Job Description

Pilot Company is a leading network of travel centers with a vast presence across North America, employing over 30,000 team members and operating more than 750 retail and fueling locations spanning 44 states and six Canadian provinces. Founded in 1958 by Jim A. Haslam II and currently under the leadership of CEO Adam Wright, Pilot Company has grown into a multi-faceted enterprise delivering critical services in energy, logistics, and retail operations. Our energy and logistics division is recognized as a top fuel supplier, operating one of the largest tanker fleets and playing a pivotal role in supporting oil operations within some of the country’s busiest basins. This expansive portfolio extends across various specialized sectors including supply chain and logistics, technology and digital innovation, construction, maintenance, human resources, finance, sales, and marketing.

At Pilot Company, we pride ourselves on a people-first culture deeply rooted in foundational values that emphasize dedication to our team members and customers alike. Our commitment to giving back and fostering an inclusive work environment endures as we continually strive to fuel people and keep North America moving forward. We welcome all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Military veterans are especially encouraged to apply.

The role we are offering is designed to provide crucial operational support to our restaurant management team within our network of travel centers. This position primarily involves supervising restaurant activities during non-peak service hours and other times as required. The ideal candidate will ensure that Pilot Company’s stringent Brand and PTC operational standards are maintained at all times, executing shift plans promptly and efficiently while following up rigorously on assigned tasks. Supporting the management team, the role also includes working in hourly positions to model best practices in food preparation, register procedures, and cash handling policies. Accountability for hospitality and Speed of Service (SOS) goals is paramount, as these directly impact customer satisfaction and brand reputation.

As a supervisory figure during shifts, the candidate will provide clear direction to team members, uphold cleaning and safety standards, monitor labor usage and breaks as guided by Blue Cube, and support ongoing training and cross-training initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with the Restaurant General Manager to uphold restaurant plans and objectives, ensuring adherence to all Pilot Company processes and policies. The individual will also oversee proper execution of suggestive selling techniques, product freshness, food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with marketing standards to maximize guest experience.

Safety is a core component of the role, requiring vigilance in maintaining secure working conditions and strict observance of dress code standards. Communication with management about team performance and discipline concerns is essential, along with the flexibility to take on additional duties as assigned. Compensation for this role starts between $11.85 and $17.25 per hour, reflecting the dynamic and integral nature of this supervisory support position within our travel center operations.
