Job Description

Pilot Company is a prominent and industry-leading network of travel centers operating across North America, including the United States and Canada. Established in 1958 by Jim A. Haslam II and presently led by CEO Adam Wright, this company has grown exponentially to employ over 30,000 team members who operate more than 750 retail and fueling locations in 44 states and six Canadian provinces. Pilot Company is not only recognized for its extensive retail and fueling operations but also for its energy and logistics division, which plays a critical role in supplying fuel. This division boasts one of the largest tanker fleets nationwide, serving some of the busiest oil basins and supporting extensive oil operations. The company maintains a robust portfolio that spans supply chain management, retail operations, logistics, transportation, technology and digital innovation, construction, maintenance, human resources, finance, sales, and marketing.

Pilot Company is deeply rooted in founding values centered around a people-first culture committed to community engagement and giving back. This ethos is embedded in the daily operation of its business units, ensuring that employees and customers alike experience the company’s dedication to service and excellence. The company embraces diversity and inclusivity, providing equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. Their recruitment efforts actively encourage military veterans to apply.

The position being offered is designed to provide critical operational support to the restaurant management team within Pilot Company’s extensive network. This role primarily involves supervising restaurant activities during off-peak service hours and other operational times as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Employees will be responsible for maintaining the company’s brand and operational standards, executing shift plans, and following up on assigned tasks with precision and care. The role requires a hands-on approach, including working in hourly positions to directly support the restaurant floor operations.

Other key responsibilities include monitoring food preparation to uphold quality standards, supervising cash handling procedures, and ensuring hospitality standards are consistently met to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The position demands a strong focus on speed of service, team direction during shifts, cleanliness protocols, labor usage monitoring, team training assistance, and compliance with brand policies. Employees in this role act as critical communication links by advising restaurant general managers on performance and disciplinary issues, while ensuring safety procedures and dress codes are consistently enforced.

The pay for this role starts competitively, ranging between $13.80 and $20.13 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair and motivating compensation. Pilot Company also offers a variety of benefits such as nationwide medical, dental, and vision plans, a 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending accounts, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, a flexible schedule, and weekly pay. These benefits demonstrate the company’s strong focus on supporting team members’ overall well-being and professional development. This position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to join a respected and growth-oriented company in the retail and service industry, where operational excellence and employee engagement are highly valued.
