The Associate role at Product Connections involves engaging consumers directly within retail environments by performing in-store food and non-food product demonstrations. This position is designed for individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and have the ability to effectively communicate product benefits while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. The job requires setting up demonstration stations, preparing and serving food samples using various kitchen appliances while strictly adhering to food safety regulations, and managing demonstration-related equipment and supplies.

Working approximately 25 hours per week, the Associate serves as a critical team member, especially in instances when the Supervisor is absent, taking charge of event communications and being the point of contact for store management regarding event execution. This role demands strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workstation, ensuring proper handling of products, and upholding the company's presentation standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three months related experience or training
  • Food Safety Professional Certification or local food handler's permit if required
  • Proficient with personal computer and mobile device applications
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach overhead, talk and hear
  • Visual ability to read instructions and perform tasks
  • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb using a 6-foot ladder
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Able to push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully loaded
  • Experience with preparing foods using raw meats, poultry, and cooking appliances
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area using cleaning chemicals
  • Willingness to follow retailer dress code and present a professional appearance
  • Able to communicate effectively in English
  • Able to report work-related injuries promptly
  • Willingness to act as point of contact in Supervisor absence
  • Able to travel locally as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills may be required based on business needs

Job Duties

  • Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies ensuring cleanliness and security
  • Communicate with store management about upcoming and past events during Supervisor absence
  • Be the point person for in-store events when Supervisor is not present
  • Assist Event Specialists with event materials and tools
  • Provide leadership and knowledge to the team assisting the Supervisor
  • Acquire and maintain product knowledge for effective demonstrations
  • Proactively engage and sell products to consumers in a professional manner
  • Prepare and serve food samples following food safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation
  • Properly set up and prepare Event Table for execution
  • Complete all assigned work and related administrative tasks
  • Assist with client visit preparation and audit corrections
  • Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client goals
  • Submit expense reports and online requirements promptly
  • Document events with digital photos of setups
