Advocate Health is the third-largest nonprofit integrated health system in the United States, created from the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. This extensive health network provides care under the names Advocate Health Care in Illinois, Atrium Health in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama, and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Advocate Health services nearly 6 million patients across 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations. With a workforce of 155,000 teammates, Advocates Health is dedicated to clinical innovation, improving health outcomes, enhancing consumer experience, and delivering value-based care. The system is nationally recognized for its expertise in cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, organ transplants, burn treatments, and specialized musculoskeletal programs. Advocate Health also boasts one of the nation’s largest graduate medical education programs, with over 2,000 residents and fellows across more than 200 programs. Committed to equitable care, Advocate Health provides over $6 billion in annual community benefits and engages in hundreds of clinical trials and research studies, anchored academically by Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

The Environmental Services Department at Atrium Health University City is seeking a dedicated full-time staff leader committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming healthcare environment. This role is essential in supporting the high standards of cleanliness and safety required in a large healthcare setting. The position involves overseeing daily staff duties and assignments within the environmental services department, ensuring all tasks meet established quality standards. The leader evaluates cleanliness through rigorous inspections and quality control measures, fostering an environment that promotes health and safety for patients, visitors, and staff.

Working 40 hours per week, this full-time position requires the ability to work five days a week, including rotating weekends, providing necessary supervision and coordination across shifts. The pay range is competitive, from $20.80 to $31.20 per hour, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills. The role emphasizes team leadership, staff training on the use of chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols, and effective communication to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards.

Physical demands of the role include continuous walking, standing, occasional bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ability to work under potentially stressful conditions related to customer concerns is vital. As part of the employment process, candidates must pass a physical ability test to demonstrate their capability to meet the physical demands of the job. Advocate Health provides a comprehensive suite of total rewards, including competitive compensation, premium pay opportunities, incentive pay for select roles, and annual pay increases based on performance.

The role offers extensive benefits that support employee well-being and work-life balance, such as paid time off, health and welfare benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability coverage. Flexible spending accounts are available for eligible health care and dependent care expenses, along with family benefits like adoption assistance and paid parental leave. Financial well-being is supported through defined contribution retirement plans with employer match and educational assistance programs to foster career growth and professional development. Advocate Health is committed to investing in its employees’ career development and overall quality of life, ensuring a supportive and inclusive workplace environment.
