Job Description
Hilton HHonors Management (HHM) stands as a distinguished hotel management company dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. With a firm commitment to excellence, HHM operates a range of hotels that prioritize guest satisfaction, sustainability, and operational efficiency. Known for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee growth, HHM provides an engaging environment where team members can thrive and advance their careers in the hospitality industry. The company embraces values such as People Are Our Capability, Hearts That Serve, Only Excellence, Stay Nimble, and Own It, which drive their service ethos and workplace culture.
This role centers on the general maintenance functions crucial for ensuring guest service and sustainability standards are consistently met throughout the hotel property. As a Maintenance Engineer at HHM, you will work at the core of maintaining and enhancing the hotel's physical infrastructure to guarantee a seamless and comfortable experience for all guests. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24.00 to $25.00, reflecting the importance of skilled maintenance professionals in the hospitality business. Opportunities for career progression are clearly outlined, providing paths toward leadership roles such as Engineering Supervisor, Chief Engineer, and Area Chief Engineer.
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supervising and directing maintenance engineers, coordinating work orders, and managing repair assignments to maintain the integrity of the hotel’s facilities. This includes hands-on tasks like conducting room inspections, repairing or installing wall coverings including sheetrock, and painting designated areas. Electrical responsibilities encompass installing and replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, as well as repairing furniture and programming televisions. Plumbing tasks are also part of the role, along with repair and preventive maintenance of heating and cooling pumps.
Beyond these core duties, the position requires troubleshooting and repair of kitchen equipment, documenting maintenance activities meticulously, and ensuring work complies with local, state, and federal regulations. A strong emphasis is placed on sustainability practices aligned with HHM’s EarthView program. The role may also involve stepping in as a bell attendant during peak times or staffing shortages, showcasing the company’s flexibility and team-oriented approach.
Safety is paramount for HHM, requiring Maintenance Engineers to observe safe work habits, use protective equipment, and adhere to OSHA standards and material safety datasheets (MSDS). This comprehensive role demands physical stamina and adaptability, as the work schedule may include holidays, weekends, and varying shifts that require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, and similar physical activities.
Overall, the Maintenance Engineer position at HHM is both challenging and rewarding, offering a pivotal role in maintaining the hotel’s operational excellence while supporting sustainable practices. Candidates who bring relevant maintenance experience, a strong work ethic, and a passion for hospitality will find ample opportunities for professional development and advancement within this dynamic company.
