Job Description
E.A. Sween is a reputable company specializing in the distribution of fresh food products, serving a diverse range of clients with dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. As a well-established provider in the food distribution industry, E.A. Sween combines logistical expertise with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence. The company operates a 24/7 environment that demands flexibility and teamwork to deliver exceptional service to their customers. E.A. Sween is proud to foster an inclusive work culture, promoting equal opportunity for minority, female, veteran, and disabled applicants. They provide a stable, full-time position with competitive pay and benefits, prioritizing the professional growth and well-being of their workforce.
The Lead Delivery Driver role at E.A. Sween is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver seeking to advance their career while remaining actively involved in daily delivery operations. This position is designed for someone with proven driving experience who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities in a hands-on capacity. Operating predominantly during overnight hours, the Lead Delivery Driver will manage local routes in a 26-foot box truck delivering fresh food products to 7-Eleven stores. The role requires managing, training, and supporting a team of drivers, ensuring that deliveries are executed safely, efficiently, and accurately. This position offers local routes that allow the driver to be home daily, providing a desired work-life balance. The scheduling supports flexibility but expects readiness to cover shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.
At a competitive wage of $25.00 per hour plus overtime opportunity, this full-time position offers financial stability alongside valuable benefits. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off (PTO), eight paid holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan with company match. Additionally, the company offers life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and tuition reimbursement to support ongoing personal and professional development. This role is an ideal match for candidates with at least three years of experience driving box trucks or larger vehicles, who have a solid work ethic, strong communication skills, and the ability to support and lead others in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. No commercial driver's license (CDL) is required, broadening accessibility to qualified applicants.
The Lead Delivery Driver will also have roles beyond driving, including assistant duties such as coordinating daily routes, ensuring accurate completion of operational documents like manifests and DOT logs, monitoring fleet cleanliness and readiness, reinforcing safety standards including DOT, HACCP, and OSHA compliance, and assisting with incident and workers' compensation reports. Being part of the E.A. Sween team means contributing to a smooth, safe, and professional delivery operation, all while growing leadership skills and building career momentum within the transportation and logistics industry. Candidates who thrive on responsibility, teamwork, and making a visible impact in a company set on growth and service excellence, are encouraged to apply today for this rewarding position.
