As a community fixture, Boise Co-op strives to foster an inclusive environment where employees and customers alike can feel valued and supported. The Co-op is dedicated to enhancing the local food system and creating positive social impact through responsible retail practices and community engagement. It operates with a vision to support local farmers, reduce environmental impact, and promote food education in the region.

The Deli Lead position in the Back of the House at Boise Co-op plays a crucial role in driving the success of daily kitchen operations. As a Deli Lead, you will oversee the back-of-house activities which include training and coaching kitchen staff, maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring that the deli produces consistent, high-quality food products. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for planning labor schedules based on sales forecasts, managing inventory to minimize waste, and ordering products efficiently to maintain smooth operations.

Furthermore, the Deli Lead will serve as a key support figure for the team, leading by example and fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and mutual respect. Day-to-day communications through meetings and digital tools like Microsoft Teams are integral to keeping everyone informed and aligned. Candidates for this role should be proactive, engaging leaders who take pride in motivating their crew and upholding Boise Co-op's values of efficiency, safety, and quality. This position not only demands technical knowledge of kitchen operations but also a commitment to nurturing a culture of responsibility and fun within the team.

Boise Co-op offers a comprehensive benefits package including a store discount, quarterly bonuses, an extra wage incentive to spend in-store, health insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan. The physical demands of the role require standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and frequent movement within a busy kitchen setting. Boise Co-op embraces diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities and maintaining an equal opportunity employment policy. This is an excellent chance to join a value-driven organization where leadership contributes directly to community well-being and sustainability.
