The Deli Lead, Back of the House, role at Boise Co-op is a dynamic and vital position responsible for overseeing back-of-house kitchen operations within the deli department. This leadership role involves guiding and managing a fast-paced kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. The person in this position is expected to lead by example, training and coaching staff on kitchen procedures, recipes, and safety practices while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. The Deli Lead will handle labor scheduling, inventory control, and ordering products to meet production needs, all while striving to reduce waste through accurate inventory management and proper rotation.

In addition to operational responsibilities, this role requires strong communication skills as the Deli Lead facilitates daily team communications through meetings, emails, and digital tools like Microsoft Teams. The position demands a proactive and hands-on leader who can motivate and hold the team accountable with a positive attitude, fostering an efficient, safe, and enjoyable working environment. Physical stamina is important for this role since it requires being on your feet, lifting up to 50 pounds, and engaging in various physical activities such as reaching, bending, and using step stools or ladders. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Food Handler’s Card required
  • knowledge of knife safety preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • previous service industry or kitchen leadership experience preferred
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work well in a team environment
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
