As a Deli Lead, Back of the House at Boise Co-op, you will play a crucial role in managing kitchen operations efficiently. This position involves leading and motivating a team of kitchen staff to ensure the production of high-quality deli products while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coaching, and continuous support to enable your team to perform at their best in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for training new employees, scheduling labor to meet daily production needs, managing inventory and waste, ordering supplies, and maintaining open communication with your team through various channels including meetings, emails, and digital tools like Microsoft Teams.

In this leadership role, you will also help implement new kitchen processes and products to keep operations consistent across shifts. Your organizational skills and ability to multitask will ensure smooth workflow and problem-solving during busy periods. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Food Handler's Card
  • knife safety knowledge preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • previous service industry or kitchen leadership experience encouraged
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to multitask in a busy kitchen environment
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
  • physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Train and coach staff on kitchen procedures, recipes, and safety practices
