The Data Solutions & Platforms Engineering team is an integral part of Enterprise Technology & Data and is responsible for developing and managing an extensive portfolio of products and tools related to Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Automation. These solutions support various business teams throughout The Walt Disney Company, enabling them to make data-driven decisions and optimize operational processes.
The role of Lead Engineer within the Finance data platforms at Disney is pivotal. This position encompasses management of critical technology platforms including SAP BW, SAP HANA, and Snowflake, which form the backbone of Disney’s financial data landscape. The Lead Engineer acts as a subject matter expert, collaborating closely with technology stakeholders and clients to resolve issues and implement system enhancements that ensure business continuity and performance.
In this role, you will be tasked with investigating and addressing production issues, spearheading continuous improvement initiatives, and overseeing offshore teams managing incidents, service requests, and issues to meet stringent service level agreements and quality standards. You will partner with Solution Architects, Product, and Engineering Managers to design and execute innovative technology solutions, ensuring the robust maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 7 years of related work experience
- Technical expertise in SAP HANA and SAP BW
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Javascript
- Experience developing and managing enterprise data systems and tools for over 5 years
- Understanding of Finance business domain
- Good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, technical expertise in SAP HANA and SAP BW, experience with SQL, Python, Javascript, knowledge of ETL, Informatica IDMC, BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SAP Business Objects is a plus, 5 plus years of experience developing and managing enterprise data systems and tools, understanding of Finance business domain, good communications skills, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, or equivalent work experience
Job Duties
- Lead engineer responsible for managing operations of our Finance data platforms including SAP BW, SAP HANA, Snowflake
- Act as the technology subject matter expert, partnering with technology stakeholders and clients to both address issues and recommend or implement enhancements
- Investigate and resolve production related issues and drive areas of focus for continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee offshore teams responsible for managing incidents, issues and service requests
- ensure service level and quality targets are met
- Design and implement technology solutions in partnership with Solution Architects, Product and Engineering Managers
- Coordinate development and on-going maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans
