Job Requirements
- current work authorization
- pass background check prior to appointment start date
- ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and understand their interactions and disposal methods
- knowledge of various custodial equipment and machinery
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- willingness to work scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency overtime
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- minimum of two years of custodial or housekeeping experience with floor care emphasis
Job Qualifications

- minimum of two years of experience in custodial or housekeeping operations with an emphasis on floor care
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- knowledge of safe handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals
- proficiency in using custodial equipment and machinery
- ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- lead, guide, and perform custodial and housekeeping tasks to maintain campus facilities
- clean, dust, strip, wax, sweep, mop, polish, disinfect, sanitize, vacuum, replenish restrooms, and remove refuse and recycling
- oversee day-to-day custodial operations in supervisor's absence
- act as a subject matter expert and provide leadership to custodial staff
- maintain positive communication with colleagues, supervisors, faculty, staff, and students
- safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment including stripping/buffing machines, vacuums, steam pressure washers, and carpet extractors
- apply proper cleaning and maintenance procedures for various floor surfaces including resilient tile, carpet, and terrazzo
- work scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency overtime including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
