The Lead Cook for The Ship Rock Grille at Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a crucial position responsible for maintaining these high standards within the culinary team. This role is designed for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, where efficiency, quality, and teamwork are paramount. The Lead Cook assists the Chefs and Culinary Supervisors by overseeing kitchen staff and ensuring that meals and food items are prepared according to detailed production plans. Job Requirements
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Minimum of one (1) year of food preparation or related work experience preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work holidays, nights, and weekends as needed
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Compliance with uniform and personal protective equipment requirements
Job Qualifications
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Perform daily line check and sanitation logs
- The ability to work all stations on the kitchen line
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate with the kitchen supervisors and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Supervisors daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
