Job Description
ESS Support Services Worldwide - Alaska and Gulf of Mexico is a prominent provider specializing in comprehensive support services tailored to food and facility maintenance primarily for offshore and remote land site clients. Headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, ESS has established itself as a leader in delivering outstanding hospitality and culinary services around the clock, 365 days a year. The company caters to a range of clients that require dedicated kitchen support personnel, culinary professionals, and hospitality experts to maintain seamless daily operations and provide exceptional food services to resident workers. With an emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, ESS combines industry experience with commitment to excellence in the demanding environment of offshore and remote locations.
ESS is currently hiring for full-time Lead Cook positions based at their Basecamp location in the ConocoPhillips Building, downtown Anchorage. This opportunity is ideal for those with a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards in food preparation and safety. The Lead Cook will be scheduled Monday through Friday with various shifts available, necessitating physical presence onsite in Anchorage, given this is not a remote work role. The pay range for this position is $21.00 to $27.00 per hour, reflecting the skill and responsibility required. An internal employee referral bonus is also offered, underscoring ESS's dedication to fostering a strong workplace culture.
The Lead Cook role is critical within the food service team. Responsible for preparing nutritious and flavorful meals according to company standards and regulatory guidelines, this position demands hands-on culinary expertise and leadership in overseeing food service associates. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate prior experience in culinary and cooking roles, with a firm understanding of food safety standards such as HACCP and local health regulations. Beyond cooking, the Lead Cook will engage in equipment operation, routine cleaning, food storage management, and documentation related to food production and safety compliance. Cross-training and supporting team members are also important duties, helping to maintain a versatile and efficient kitchen staff.
ESS Support Services Worldwide is committed to its employees' wellbeing and growth. Full-time and part-time positions include a robust benefits program featuring retirement plans, health and wellness initiatives, various insurance options (medical, dental, vision, life, disability), flexible spending accounts, employee assistance programs, and unique perks like pet insurance and identity theft protection. ESS also embraces equal opportunity employment principles, ensuring a fair hiring process without discrimination and considering all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories within applicable laws. This role represents both a career opportunity and a chance to contribute to a reputable company dedicated to operational excellence and supportive work environments in Alaska's unique setting.
