Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in high-volume food service environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with a culinary team
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Basic understanding of inventory management
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
  • Commitment to following safety and security protocols
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in culinary field or related experience
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience in high-volume fine dining food service
  • Over 2 years of experience in a high-volume food service environment with exposure to menu research and development
  • Strong knowledge of culinary terms, procedures, and practices
  • HACCP knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle heavy workloads and work under pressure
  • Self-organized and capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to accurately monitor waste
  • Flexibility to work different shifts including night, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and prepare a menu that meets the unique requirements of airline customers and in-flight dining
  • Lead a team of cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Prepare exquisite, gourmet meals with precision and elegance, paying meticulous attention to detail in presentation and flavor
  • Implement and maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and taste, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to support efficient kitchen operations
  • Train and mentor cooks, providing guidance and support to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and supplies
  • Stay updated with industry trends and innovations, incorporating new techniques and ingredients into menu creations
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities, working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
