Job Description

The job primarily involves special food preparation and replacement of products, maintaining temperature control of ovens, grills, and rotisseries, and managing thawing processes of frozen foods according to strict safety guidelines. Accurate portioning, distribution, and food dressing are crucial responsibilities to ensure quality and presentation standards meet JW Marriott’s exemplary hospitality benchmark. Maintaining detailed records of food and inventory to control quality and quantity is also part of the role.
Effective communication with kitchen management and food and beverage service staff about daily specials and rejected products is necessary to ensure smooth operation. Additionally, the position requires assisting management with employee-related tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, motivation, and discipline, while leading by example. Adherence to all safety policies and procedures is mandatory; employees must report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, participate in training and acquire certifications as required.
This position demands physical stamina and flexibility, as it includes prolonged standing, walking, and occasionally sitting, as well as stretching, bending, twisting, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds without assistance. The environment requires a high degree of professionalism, including maintaining a clean uniform and personal appearance, protecting confidential information and company property, and cultivating positive inter-staff relationships to achieve common goals.
