The brand fosters a culture of confidence, innovation, authenticity, and intuition, deeply rooted in the legacy of its founder, J. Willard Marriott. JW Marriott Chicago offers an unparalleled working experience where employees are part of a diverse community and enjoy genuine camaraderie among colleagues. Employees at JW Marriott Chicago have the opportunity to carry out their best work, achieve their purpose, be part of an incredible global team, and grow into their best versions.

The role available is a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage Culinary Associate based in Chicago, Illinois, with a pay range between $21.98 and $29.30 per hour. This position is crucial in maintaining the high standards of food preparation and service that JW Marriott is known for. The associate will be involved in preparing special meals or substituting products, regulating oven temperatures, thawing frozen food items under proper refrigeration, and ensuring the correct portion sizes, distribution, and garnishing of meals. The role requires overseeing food quality and quantity, maintaining food records, communicating during high-demand periods, and informing the head chef about surplus food that can be used for daily specials. The associate also communicates with Food and Beverage service staff regarding rejected products and special dishes. Ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and presentation requirements is critical. The position includes preparing cold dishes and assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating, and training staff, serving as a role model.

The role demands strict compliance with safety policies and company procedures, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, and participating in safety training and certifications. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance and safeguarding confidential information and company property are also essential. The associate anticipates and addresses guest service needs, uses clear and professional communication, and fosters positive workplace relationships by supporting team goals and responding appropriately to employee concerns. Physical demands include prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking, stretching, bending, twisting, and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors are expected to be performed. Overall, this role offers a blend of culinary skill, teamwork, and professional development within a luxury hospitality setting, aligned with JW Marriott's commitment to excellence and employee well-being.
