As a Lead Cook at Sodexo based at Columbia College, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the preparation and presentation of nutritious, delicious meals that delight customers and uphold the company’s reputation for quality and service. This position requires a hands-on approach in the kitchen where you will efficiently prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You will be expected to follow recipes and product directions accurately while maintaining a high standard of food safety and sanitation. Additionally, the Lead Cook may operate grill stations or work at a la carte service points, demonstrating versatility and culinary skills. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-4 years of related work experience preferred
- Ability to work varying shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Open availability preferred
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Willingness to support team and management

Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
- Support management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to varying client requirements
