This particular position is a full-time, non-management role based in Charlotte, North Carolina, at The Ritz-Carlton’s location on 201 E Trade St. The Food and Beverage & Culinary sector plays a crucial role in upholding the high standards of the hotel’s dining services. The role centers around supporting the kitchen operations to ensure guests receive meals of outstanding quality, prepared and presented according to The Ritz-Carlton’s esteemed standards. Working within a collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of kitchen tasks essential to efficient food preparation and service. Though this role is not supervisory, it offers opportunities to learn and engage in the hotel's renowned culture of luxury and guest care.

The position requires a hands-on approach to food preparation, including the thawing and handling of products, managing oven and grill temperatures, ensuring proper portioning and presentation, and maintaining food quality standards. Close communication with kitchen management and Food & Beverage staff is critical to address workload fluctuations, special menu items, and food safety concerns. The role also emphasizes adherence to company policies and safety procedures, personal grooming standards, and confidentiality. Employees are expected to demonstrate professionalism and positive interpersonal communication while working diligently to meet and exceed service standards.

Job Duties

  • Prepare special meals or substitute products
  • regulate oven, grill, and roaster temperatures
  • remove food from the freezer for defrosting in the refrigerator
  • ensure proper portioning, distribution, and garnishing of food
  • maintain records of food
  • control quality and quantity of prepared food
  • communicate assistance needs during high workload periods
  • inform kitchen manager of excess food for daily specials
  • inform Food and Beverage staff about rejected products and specials
