Job Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- experience as a cook or in a related culinary role required
- ability to work independently with limited supervision
- knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations including proper handling, sanitation, and storage
- food safety certification required
- basic math and counting skills
- effective interpersonal and communication skills
- physical ability to perform job duties
- ability to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
Job Duties
- Schedule and assign daily work activities to staff
- supervise task completion
- train and guide staff on job duties, food safety, sanitation procedures, and cooking methods
- cook and prepare food following production guidelines and standardized recipes
- set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
- safely use all food utensils including knives
- operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- bake, roast, broil, steam, and apply various cooking methods to food
- arrange, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines
- properly store food in compliance with safety policies
- clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintain excellent customer service with a positive attitude
- follow company safety policies and procedures including food safety and sanitation
- ensure security of company assets
- produce and maintain work schedules and production records as needed
