The Lead Cook position at Sodexo Live, located at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, is a part-time role offering an hourly wage ranging from $7.25 to $25.79 depending on experience and skills. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and customer service, and who enjoy working collaboratively in a dynamic culinary environment. As a Lead Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and creating nutritious and delicious dishes for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Open availability for varying shifts including days and hours
- Ability to work part-time
- Experience in food preparation and cooking preferred
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties
- Must show punctuality and regular attendance
- Ability to work well in a team environment

- 3 to 4 years of related work experience preferred

Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
- Support management in daily oversight of key functions and employees during normal course of business
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- Reduce food waste through careful preparation and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen area
