Job Requirements
- high school graduation or its equivalent
- vocational or on-the-job training in cooking
- five years experience in food production and cooking in demanding schedules
- ServeSafe certification maintained or obtained within 60 days of hire
- ability to read, write and speak English
- understand oral and written instructions
- do simple arithmetic

- cooking experience in hospitals and multi-site facilities preferred
- familiarity with computer software programs such as Word Perfect and inventory/ordering systems preferred
Job Duties
- execute service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery
- assist in daily operations for food productions at all stations of the food service operation
- assist in preparing and cooking foods to order required in the operation of a major patient-care and commercial cafeteria facility
- comply with University Health System and Department policies and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- ensure proper care and use of foods, supplies, equipment and comply with safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations
- maintain good guest and working relations
- provide positive and constructive feedback to employees to reward, coach, correct and motivate
