The Lead Cook position at Lucky Strike Entertainment offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced and vibrant environment. This part-time role involves taking a leadership position within the kitchen, acting as the key person in charge during the absence of the Kitchen Manager or Chef. As a Lead Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing food in appropriate quantities by using established operations manuals and prep sheets. You will ensure that every order is crafted, presented, and delivered to customers following the highest quality standards set by the company.
Apart from food preparation, the Lead Cook acts as a mentor to kitchen staff by providing training on procedures, presentation, sanitation, safety guidelines, and cost control. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in all cooking, storage, refrigeration, and serving areas is crucial, adhering strictly to local health and company protocols. Quality control is paramount, including weekly calibration checks of cooking and refrigeration equipment to guarantee product freshness and excellence. This position requires regular handling of sanitation practices, ensuring all cooking utensils and dishes are sanitized using approved products.
The role also demands vigilance in inventory management, including receiving food and supplies, verifying product condition and temperature, and efficient stock rotation practices to minimize wastage. Active participation in food line preparation and supervision is expected, ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and produces high-quality menu items consistently.
Customer service is a vital aspect of this job, requiring the Lead Cook to address customer inquiries promptly and effectively, contributing to an overall positive dining experience. The successful candidate must be flexible to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands. Moreover, certifications in the company’s specified alcohol service and food safety programs must be obtained shortly after employment starts.
This position demands a candidate with 5 to 6 years of experience preferred, a strong sense of customer service, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with culinary or food management education considered an advantage. With competitive pay ranging from $22 to $23 per hour, plus performance-based incentives and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare coverage, this job offers a rewarding career path for those passionate about culinary arts and leadership within the entertainment hospitality industry.
