Job Requirements

  • high school graduation or equivalent
  • vocational or on-the-job training in cooking
  • five years experience in food production and cooking
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • ability to understand oral and written instructions
  • ability to perform simple arithmetic
  • ServeSafe certification maintained or obtained within 60 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduation or equivalent
  • vocational or on-the-job training in cooking
  • five years experience in food production and cooking in demanding schedules
  • cooking experience in hospitals and multi-site facilities preferred
  • computer knowledge and familiarity with software programs such as Word Perfect and inventory/ordering systems preferred
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • ability to understand oral and written instructions
  • ability to perform simple arithmetic
  • ServeSafe certification required

Job Duties

  • Execute service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery
  • assist in daily operations for food productions at all stations
  • prepare and cook foods to order in a patient-care and commercial cafeteria setting
  • comply with University Health System and Department policies and all federal, state, and local regulations
  • ensure proper care and use of foods, supplies, and equipment
  • comply with safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
  • maintain good guest and working relations
  • provide positive and constructive feedback to employees for motivation and coaching
  • ensure competent, efficient, and timely performance of duties
  • meet established daily deadlines with accuracy and quality
