Job Requirements
- high school graduation or equivalent
- vocational or on-the-job training in cooking
- five years experience in food production and cooking
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- ability to understand oral and written instructions
- ability to perform simple arithmetic
- ServeSafe certification maintained or obtained within 60 days of hire
Job Qualifications

- vocational or on-the-job training in cooking
- five years experience in food production and cooking in demanding schedules
- cooking experience in hospitals and multi-site facilities preferred
- computer knowledge and familiarity with software programs such as Word Perfect and inventory/ordering systems preferred
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- ability to understand oral and written instructions
- ability to perform simple arithmetic
- ServeSafe certification required
Job Duties
- Execute service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery
- assist in daily operations for food productions at all stations
- prepare and cook foods to order in a patient-care and commercial cafeteria setting
- comply with University Health System and Department policies and all federal, state, and local regulations
- ensure proper care and use of foods, supplies, and equipment
- comply with safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
- maintain good guest and working relations
- provide positive and constructive feedback to employees for motivation and coaching
- ensure competent, efficient, and timely performance of duties
- meet established daily deadlines with accuracy and quality
