The Lead Cook position at Whitworth University, managed by Sodexo, is a full-time role offering a competitive pay range of $17.13 to $25.00 per hour. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 4 years of related cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work varying shifts with open availability preferred
  • Capable of standing for long periods and performing physically demanding tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment

Job Qualifications

  • Team-oriented adaptable and reliable
  • 3 to 4 years of related work experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic culinary knowledge and food preparation skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare portion cook and present a variety of hot and or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast lunch dinner and special catered events
  • Read and follow basic recipes and or product directions for preparing various food items
  • Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and or operate a grill station
  • Support management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned that may differ among accounts based on business necessities and client requirements
