The Lead Concierge role at Barnes-Jewish Hospital represents a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most respected medical centers in the country by overseeing a vital department focused on patient and visitor experience. This role is full-time and benefit eligible, paying between $18.00 and $27.35 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Shift work is Wednesday through Saturday from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The Lead Concierge is responsible for managing the concierge team, ensuring consistent and adequate coverage across all hospital service lines. This critical leadership position involves coordinating daily staff assignments, overseeing training and orientation for new concierge personnel, and maintaining robust communication channels among internal hospital stakeholders and external partners such as volunteers and hotel representatives.
In addition to operational supervision, the Lead Concierge manages crucial administrative functions including the maintenance of databases that track daily concierge activity and lodging arrangements needed for patients and their families. The role also requires facilitating VIP protocol coordination between hospital administration, nursing leadership, and the hospital foundation. Public-facing duties include conducting presentations that raise awareness about the concierge service throughout the hospital and university community, further enhancing patient support services. Through direct oversight of meet and greet operations and patient admissions, the Lead Concierge ensures a welcoming and supportive environment for all visitors and patients. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 5-10 years work experience
- Availability to work Wednesday through Saturday 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM
- Ability to manage staff schedules and training
- Proficiency in database management
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Oversees daily assignment of concierge staff to ensure service line coverage
- Maintains and manages concierge statistics databases

- Maintains lodging lists and relationships with hotel representatives
