The Covey Center for the Arts is a prominent performing arts venue located in Provo, Utah, dedicated to providing outstanding entertainment experiences for residents of Provo City and the wider Utah County area. The role of Lead Concessions Worker is pivotal to the smooth operation of concessions sales at the Covey Center for the Arts. This position primarily involves managing the sales of food and beverage items before, during intermissions, and after performances. The Lead Concessions Worker is responsible for accurate money handling, processing both in-person and soon-to-be online food orders, and providing excellent customer service while fostering a welcoming atmosphere. They also assist with crowd flow during event times to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for patrons. This role requires an individual who is dependable, friendly, and community-minded, with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently. Responsibilities include scheduling concessions staff, ordering concession products, balancing daily deposits, and maintaining the cleanliness of the concessions area and theater after shows. The candidate should possess physical strength and agility to handle lifting boxes and cases of food and beverages, as well as executing custodial tasks as needed. Typical working hours are Monday through Saturday from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, with some daytime hours on Saturdays to cover matinee performances. On average, this position requires approximately 20 hours per week. Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older at the time of hire
  • must have a working knowledge of computers
  • six months of experience working with cash-handling and/or cashiering experience
  • experience working with the public
  • must have the physical strength and agility to perform the work
  • preference will be given to those with previous food handling experience

Job Duties

  • Sell concessions at the concessions counter before performances, during intermission, and after performances
  • process food and beverage orders quickly and efficiently
  • clean concessions area and theater after performances
