Job Requirements
- Firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- 2 years of experience working in a culinary or manufacturing related field
- culinary arts degree or ACF certification preferred
- physical ability to handle medium weight objects frequently
- willingness to work in cold and variable temperature environments
- ability to use specialized production equipment
- ability to train and supervise student employees
- compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- ability to solve equipment and production issues
- availability to participate in weekend coverage rotation
Job Qualifications

- minimum of 2 years experience in culinary or manufacturing related field
- culinary arts degree or ACF certification preferred
Job Duties
- Train and supervise student employees in the area
- recommend discipline and recognition for student employees
- manage meat and cheese production including setup, priority, quantity, efficiency, and cleanup
- oversee wrapper operation including setup, priority, efficiency, and cleanup
- evaluate processes and procedures to maximize efficient use of student labor hours
- solve problems related to equipment malfunctions, deliveries, and personnel absences
- ensure orders are accurately completed and delivered to shipping
- verify sanitation and readiness for next day's production
- manage equipment training, maintenance, and safety
- monitor key performance indicators
- schedule preventive maintenance for equipment
- coordinate repairs with maintenance
- enforce equipment safety and student task compliance
- implement procedures to keep work area clean and organized
- inspect raw ingredients inventory for freshness and quality
- ensure recipes are followed for consistent output
- direct and train students in culinary techniques and kitchen procedures
- oversee cooking to minimize waste and properly rotate food
- participate in weekend rotation coverage
- assist with production for special events
- substitute in other production areas as needed
