The Lead position at ABM plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence within facilities, ensuring that all activities align with established policies and health and safety regulations. As a Shift Leader, the individual is responsible for overseeing daily operations, including delegating tasks, providing guidance, and supervising teams especially when the Manager is unavailable. This position requires hands-on involvement with cleaning procedures, janitorial duties, equipment operation, and chemical handling. Furthermore, the Lead acts as a communication bridge between field employees and management, ensuring transparent information flow and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to follow assigned work schedules and route cards as directed
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to operate specialized cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely
  • Ability to perform janitorial duties and oversee facility cleaning operations
  • Ability to manage key control and access cards responsibly
  • Ability to document and report facility issues accurately
  • Ability to train new employees according to policies
  • Capability to maintain accurate time records
  • Ability to check and maintain supplies, equipment, and chemicals regularly

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required
  • 1 year of similar work experience preferred
  • 1 year of customer service experience preferred
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Job Duties

  • Follow assigned work schedules and route cards as directed
  • Report any barriers to operations
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members
  • Communicate openly between field employees and management and document client communications
  • Assist with making daily and weekly work schedules
  • Oversee and perform cleaning operations in assigned buildings
  • Handle keys and access cards for the property
  • Report damaged, broken, and out-of-service features or items
  • Oversee and perform additional service requests (tag jobs) in assigned building
  • Ensure quality of jobs and confirm completion with Area Manager
  • Provide training for new hires in accordance with onboarding procedures
  • Complete and validate time records for regular and subcontractor employees
  • Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
