Job Description

ABM (NYSE: ABM) is a leading global provider of facility services and solutions, dedicated to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. With a rich history dating back to 1909, ABM has established itself as a trusted partner for facility management, serving more than 20,000 clients worldwide. Operating across a diverse range of industries including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues, ABM offers a wide portfolio of comprehensive services. These include janitorial services, engineering, parking management, electrical and lighting solutions, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical support, landscaping and turf management, as well as mission-critical operations.

Boasting an annualized revenue nearing $8 billion and employing over 100,000 team members across 350 offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, ABM is committed to excellence, innovation, and environmental stewardship. The company places a strong emphasis on diversity, equal opportunity employment, and support for veterans and individuals with disabilities, alongside partnering with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's E-Verify program to uphold employment eligibility standards. ABM also prides itself on extensive training programs that empower team members to advance their careers within the company.

The role of Shift Leader at ABM is a pivotal position that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of facility management services during the night shift. The Shift Leader acts as the primary supervisor onsite, stepping in to lead the team and maintain high standards when the Manager is not present. Responsible for coordinating daily operations, the Shift Leader delegates tasks, provides guidance, and maintains open lines of communication between field employees and management. This role is integral in upholding ABM’s commitment to safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction within the facilities they manage.

Specifically, the Shift Leader oversees janitorial functions, which include operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and performing general janitorial duties as necessary. The leader also manages keys and access cards to the property, monitors quality control to ensure that cleaning and maintenance tasks meet or exceed expectations, and handles any additional service requests that arise during the shift. Supervisory responsibilities include training new hires according to onboarding procedures, making work schedules, validating employee time records, and reporting any damaged or malfunctioning features within the facility.

This full-time position operates on a night shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, offering an hourly wage between $18.00 and $20.00. The exact pay rate is influenced by the applicant's relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and alignment with current market data. ABM also provides a robust benefits package to its team members, ensuring support for their health, well-being, and work-life balance.

Joining ABM as a Shift Leader offers the opportunity to work for an established and respected company with a mission to improve the spaces where people live and work. The role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, possess strong leadership and communication skills, and have an eye for operational detail. It also offers a dynamic work environment where solutions-driven thinking and proactive management contribute to both employee and client satisfaction.
