Job Description

ABM (NYSE: ABM) is a globally recognized leader in facility services and solutions, known for creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments in a wide range of settings. Founded in 1909, ABM has grown to become one of the world’s largest providers of facility management, serving over 20,000 clients with nearly $8 billion in annualized revenue and employing more than 100,000 team members across more than 350 offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations. ABM’s extensive service offerings span janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical systems, landscaping and turf management, as well as mission-critical solutions. Their comprehensive approach ensures that clients from various industries—including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues—benefit from top-tier facility management and enhanced operational efficiency.

ABM is a military-friendly employer that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities and encourages veterans and candidates with military experience to apply, supporting their transition into civilian careers with world-class training and abundant career growth opportunities. ABM participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program, reinforcing its commitment to lawful employment practices.

The Lead position at ABM is designed to provide supervision and operational leadership at an assigned facility, particularly when the manager is not available. This role involves ensuring that all facility operations adhere strictly to established policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service. The Lead oversees daily activities by delegating job assignments, guiding team members, and managing communications between field employees and management. This role requires a hands-on approach, including operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and supporting general janitorial duties as needed to uphold the facility’s quality standards.

The Shift Leader works Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and is based in West Houston/Energy Corridor, 77079. Responsibilities include monitoring supply inventories, maintaining equipment and chemical inventories, overseeing cleaning operations, and ensuring prompt responses to service requests. The Lead also plays a critical role in onboarding and training new hires according to company standards, validating time records for team members, and safeguarding keys and access cards for the property.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce with limited experience or educational background. ABM does not require a high school diploma or college degree for this role but values reliability, leadership qualities, and a proactive attitude. Preferred candidates will have at least one year of similar work, customer service, or supervisory experience and a valid driver’s license. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are especially encouraged to apply.

ABM supports its team members with a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote well-being and work-life balance. From health insurance to retirement plans, the company strives to provide a supportive work environment where employees can grow professionally and personally. By joining ABM as a Lead, you become part of a dynamic team dedicated to operational excellence and making a positive impact on the built environment.
